For purposes of identification and as an assist to emergency personnel, all residences and commercial businesses or buildings within the corporate limits of the City of Stafford shall display numbers on the outside of the buildings as designated in their legal address.

The numbering shall be done under and in accordance with the following system:
(a) New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property.
(b) These numbers shall contrast with their background.
(c) Address numbers shall be Arabic Numerals or Alphabet Letters.
(d) Numbers shall be a minimum of four (4) inches (102mm) high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inches (12.7 mm).
(e) After November 23, 2020, the following timeline will take place:
By January 31st, 2021: Home and Business Owners may turn in their address on a form prepared by city staff to the City Office and the City of Stafford will provide the numbers free of charge.
By February 28th, 2021: Home and Business Owners will purchase their own address numbers.
By March 31st, 2021: Any owner, person, or firm, corporation, association, organization or entity convicted of violating the provisions of this article shall be fined a sum of $5.00 per day until they have complied with this article.
