A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF STAFFORD, KANSAS FROM THE PROVISION OF K.S.A. 12-1651, AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO, WHICH RELATES TO THE DESIGNATION OF THE OFFICIAL CITY NEWSPAPER AND PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE PROVISIONS THEREFOR.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF STAFFORD, KANSAS:

SECTION 1. The city of Stafford, Kansas by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas hereby elects to exempt itself and made inapplicable to it the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1651 and any amendments thereto.  Such referenced statute relates to the designation of official city newspapers in Cities of Second and Third Class, an enactment of the legislature, which is applicable to the City of Stafford, Kansas, but not uniformly applicable to all cities within the State of Kansas.

SECTION 2. The governing body of the City of Stafford, Kansas shall designate by authorizing, upon proper resolution, the City of Stafford city website, as the official city newspaper.
